Whenever your solar system is generating more power than you use, you are a net exporter and generally benefit most from the HI rate. Whenever your solar system is generating less power than you use, you are a net importer and typically limit costs better on the LO rate. For many Alberta residential microgenerators, the transition to net exporter occurs around April and back to net importer around September.

Shared Value Energy provides a video tutorial that explains how to submit a rate change request through your My Account. You can also use their PDF instruction guide.
